Why It Matters
The European Union has created a comprehensive legal framework to regulate artificial intelligence technologies within the framework of its vision of digital sovereignty. The AI Act was published in the EU Official Journal on 12 July 2024 and entered into force on 1 August 2024. However, the provisions of the law are gradually being implemented:
